I have heard a lot of comments about Tipton County being a Republican County. I am concerned and confused about this. Can someone tell me why the poor, the working poor, the lower class, the working class, the lower middle class, and middle class of Tipton county think that the behavior of the Republican party reflects their values? In general the Republicans are all about the interest of the richest, most powerful individals and corporations. They think by giving "tough love" you too can achieve the dream to become one of them. That it is up to the indiviual to make something of themselves. Fine, good plan, right. The problem comes when reality is examined. The distribution of wealth has the richest and most powerful people and corporations controlling the government. They now make the rules and the laws to benefit themselves instead of the masses. Now they are in position to keep the tools of prosparity under control and suppressed. The other point to be made is they have not delivered on the platform that they were elected on. The have grown the government larger than it has ever been and the growth is not in areas that help the average citizen. Unless you think preemtively invading a foreign country without valid reasons was worth 5+ years of war, costing over 4,000+ American Military lives and Trillions of Dollars. I can go on with the list of promises that have not been met in the last 7 years, but the point is this when is Tipton County going to change the present politics of "Promise what they think you want to hear, then do nothing about it"? That is pathetic. How gullable is our electorate? But it gets worse, This current Republican administration has "Promised and done little" or underfunded or done the exact opposite of every single plank in their platform. For example, energy Prices surging, College Tuition skyrocketing, housing market tanking, Losing jobs overseas, largest trade deficits, largest dept, value of the dollar dropping, not controlling our borders, etc. Whats wrong with this picture? Why wouldn’t Tipton County voters vote for a Democratic President this time around? Stop this madness!

Our aim is to promote discussion, encourage participation, and foster critical thinking, all of which are sorely lacking in today’s political discourse. Members may post on any topic, and any reader may comment (please keep it civil!).
